This disclosure is for US History. In this class we cover the full state core requirements and go beyond to apply them to the world around us.
Throughout this course you will learn or improve your ability to:
(1) Plan and organize regular study habits
(2) Understand and synthesize a broad knowledge of history.
(3) Explain the role of the United States in the world today, through the lens of events past and present.
(4) Analyze primary sources to understand conflicting viewpoints of the past and their impact today.
(5) Compose an argumentative essay and defend a historical position with sources.

Please check that you understand the following guidelines regarding Ms. McDonald's class. *

If a student is in Isolation or Quarantine I will work with that student to complete their work on Canvas for the days they missed, including adjusted due dates as needed.

The award of credit in this class is subject to the conditions outlined in the Bingham High Attendance Policy.

If a student is absent they have 5 SCHOOL DAYS to take any tests or quizzes. After that week they CANNOT MAKE-UP TESTS OR QUIZZES and will receive a score of 0. No test make ups will be permitted during class time.

You have two late passes you can use per term except for finals and essays. A late pass gives you an extra week. After a week, the assignment cannot be turned in for credit.

If you miss a written assignment or quiz due to a tardy, the quiz or assignment can be made up by using one of your late passes.

Assessments are 80% of your grade, if it is assigned it is graded and in Skyward. Classwork and participation are 20% of your grade.

Cheating and plagiarism will not be tolerated in any way and will result in loss of points for that assessment. If a student cheats, a parent/teacher conference is required with the student to resolve the issue.

Cell phones and electronic devices can only be used at appropriate times under the direction of the teacher. Inappropriate use of electronic devices will result in a loss of particiation points and said device will be confiscated and given to an administrator.

The expectations for students are to respect the rights of others and to take responsibility for themselves to be successful in this class and in the future.

Highlighters in 3 colors

Black or Blue pens, they are the only acceptable colors for submitted work.
