You must be a current SABEW member to run for a board of governor seat, which has a three-year term. You must also attend the April conference so that you can attend the board meeting that is held after the conference ends.

Per the bylaws, a governor or officer who fails to attend two meetings of the Board over a 12-month period may be considered to have resigned unless the governor petitions the board to retain the seat and the Board approves the petition by a majority vote of the governors present.

Board members are expected to make an annual donation to SABEW. There is no minimum amount for the donation.
