GENERAL INFORMATION
School Site Councils (SSC) are required by state and federal regulations. You are invited to become a candidate for membership on the School Site Council.
The School Site Council (SSC) represents parents, students, community members and school staff in school governance. SSC meetings are usually held monthly. The SSC is responsible for:
o
Develop, implement, monitor, review and approval of the Single Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA).
o
Identify resources to support SPSA initiatives.
o
Review student performance data to determine needs.
o
Review and update the Title I Parent Involvement Policy and School-Parent Compact.
HOW OFTEN WILL YOU BE EXPECTED TO BE INVOLVED?
The school and district are responsible for providing you with the information and training annually on how to be an effective member. Generally, committees meet once a month for one – two hours.
NEED FOR PARENTS/COMMUNITY MEMBERS NOMINATIONS FOR THE 2020-2021 SCHOOL YEAR
This is a two-year term. If you are interested in participating, please fill out the bottom portion of this letter/form and return it to the School Office. If you are nominating someone else, please make sure the person is in acceptance of your nomination, and ask him/her to fill out the bottom portion of this letter/form as well or fill it out online by going to the Marshall Elementary Website, under school announcements, click School Site Council Nominations. Nomination forms are due at the School Office or online no later than September 18, 2020.

INFORMACION GENERAL
Consejos Escolares (SSC) son requeridos por regulaciones estatales y federales. Usted está invitado a convertirse en un candidato a miembro del consejo del sitio.
El Consejo Escolar (SSC) representa a los padres, estudiantes, miembros comunitarios, y personal escolar en el gobierno escolar. Reuniones SSC por lo general se llevan a cabo mensualmente. El SSC es responsable de:

Identificar los recursos para apoyar las iniciativas de SPSA.

Revisar y actualizar la Política de Participación de Padres Título I y el Pacto de Escuela-Padres.
El Comité Consejería de Aprendices de Inglés (ELAC) hace recomendaciones al SSC sobre los programas y servicios para Aprendices de Inglés y apoya las actividades del Alcance a los Padres en la escuela que se identifican dentro del Plan Único para el Rendimiento Académico. Usted está invitado a hacerse miembro del comité ELAC, favor de comunicarse con el director para más información.
¿CON QUÉ FRECUENCIA SE ESPERA QUE PARTICIPE?
La escuela y el distrito son responsables para proporcionarle con la información y entrenamiento anualmente para ser un miembro efectivo. Generalmente, los comités se reúnen una vez al mes por dos horas.
