Request for team of Interpreters at all Vermont Governor's Press Conferences and other Vermont state Government Public Announcements
We, residents of state of Vermont, request that the Vermont Governor’s office comply with the regulations outlined in the Americans with Disabilities Act (1990) and provide a team of a Certified Deaf Interpreter and American Sign Language Interpreter for Deaf residents of Vermont during Governor’s Press Conferences and other state government public announcements.
We require that the interpreter on screen to be visible at ALL times. The interpreter is there to relay information information to the Deaf community.
Vermont Association of the Deaf and Vermont Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf are co-sponsors of this petition on behalf of Vermont Deaf residents.
