INTEGIRLS/RMM Club Collaboration - Mentor Application!
My [Garima] brothers and I founded the free
Rastogi MatheMagicians Club
in August 2019 as an afterschool math program to help foster a math community in our math-deprived locale. Since then, we've expanded to be more accessible to all skill and grade levels.
RMM Club and
INTEGIRLS
are collaborating to offer girls and non-binary students in underserved areas an opportunity to explore math beyond school. We are looking for mentors for this program, which will be bi-weekly/weekly (depending on how many mentors we get).
Please note:
We do not take high school competitors into our group meetings as of now, so you will only be mentoring middle school students (or younger).
Mentors will be given the material they need to teach the classes; their time commitment will be no more than 1 1/2 hours per class.
If we have n mentors, each mentor will teach every n classes. So, if we have 20 mentors and 40 classes, then each mentor will only have to teach 40/20 = 2 of these classes. It's up to you if you want these classes to be consecutive or spread out.
You can receive service hours for your mentoring as this is a
volunteer opportunity
