Yesterday, you narrowed down your Personal Narrative  topics to 3 (one from each Building Block). Today, I want you to choose ONE topic that you will use for your Personal Narrative. Remember, these will be in SOME way connected to the idea of being immigrants and multi-cultural. We will write our narratives step by step, and eventually create an online audio book to go along with it and share with each other. This will become an Assessment (Exam) grade. When choosing your ONE topic, ask yourself the following questions below. If you can answer YES to all 4, then it is a good topic. If you cannot, perhaps think of a different topic. EMAIL ME IF YOU NEED HELP!!
1. Do I have vivid memories of this event/story/mentor, so that I can describe them in great detail?

2. Is there a THEME or MORAL that I can center this story around? (What did you/can the reader learn from this?)
3. Is there a Conflict (Internal or External) that is somehow involved in this story?

4. Can I find a PLOT (Beginning, Middle, and End) to this story? (If it's a mentor, perhaps you can focus on a story of them teaching you something directly or indirectly.)

5. Can I in some way connect this story to my own immigrant or multi-cultural experience?

1. What is the ONE topic that you are choosing to write about for your personal narrative? *
2. Write down 3 VIVID DETAILS that you can include in your story. (Think IMAGERY! It can be anything from the way someone looks, to the way something smelled or sounds that were present. It can even be imagery about where you were and how you felt when you heard the story you are telling.) *
3. What THEME or moral will you weave in to your personal narrative topic? Why? *
4. What is the main Conflict of the personal narrative topic you chose? *
5. What will be the general plot of your personal narrative? (What will happen in the beginning, middle and end? Just give me a brief summary, not the whole story yet!) *
6. How does this story connect to my own story as an immigrant or multi-cultural person? (Maybe it is your ACTUAL story of immigration. Maybe you learned something from a mentor that you take with you as the incredible immigrant that you are! Maybe you had an experience or know a family story that gave you insight or inspiration for your life...) *
