Northern Nights, Starry Skies - Registration

More than 80% of the world’s population lives under light-polluted skies. Light pollution can negatively impact wildlife and ecosystems, human health, climate change, crime and safety and night sky heritage. Join the UMD Institute on the Environment for a showing of the documentary Northern Nights, Starry Skies, a visually stunning celebration of our spectacular starry skies

The documentary is a co-production of PBS North and Hamline University’s Center for Global Environmental Education. This star-studded(!) event takes place Thursday, April 11, 2024 at the Marshall W. Alworth Planetarium, located at 1023 University Drive, Duluth, MN. Informational tabling and refreshments will begin at 5:30 pm, followed by the documentary showing from 6-7 pm and tabling and conversation from 7-7:30 pm.   Join us for a spectacular evening of star filled skies and learn what you can do to protect them! The event is free and open to the public but REGISTRATION is required.
