Listed below are the ways to get involved with SheTech Explorer day, our full-day conference and biggest event each year. Filling out this form tells us you are interested, or would like more information--it is not yet a firm commitment participate. With this information, we will reach out to you to discuss further, answer any questions, and finalize the details as we are planning the event. Workshops and booths will need to be confirmed around October-December 2023, though last-minute additions are often possible.

1) Workshop
Time commitment: 9:00am-12:00pm on March 14, 2024

We need presenter(s) who will provide an interactive workshop to inspire girls to explore different aspects of STEM-related careers and imagine the possibilities! Each workshop is taught for 3 sessions that are 35 minutes long. We aim to have 25-30 students in each session, but please let us know if your workshop could scale!  Co-instructors are encouraged to help students with the activity and foster engagement. Workshop supplies are to be furnished by each presenter or sponsoring organization. The facility provides the pipe and drape partitioned classroom setting, tables, and chairs. SheTech can provide a TV monitor for presentation purposes. Power and wifi to your classroom workshop space are assessed separately based on workshop needs. A very limited number of laptops are typically provided for day-use by our sponsors. We will reach out to you for additional information and to confirm your workshop.

2) TechZone Booth
Time commitment: 9:00am-12:00pm on March 14, 2024

Come host a booth in our TechZone! All students will rotate through the TechZone as they move through their scheduled 3 sessions. We encourage booths to have an interactive or hands on display that will help students explore your company or education opportunities. If your companies can provide swag to hand out to the students, please bring them! Booths are typically 10x10 with a pipe and drape surround, one table, and two chairs. Multiple booth spaces can be arranged for larger displays. If power is needed for your booth, this will be assessed separately. We will reach out to you to confirm details and answer questions.

The cost to run a workshop or host a booth is $750 each or $1,000 for both. If you are unable to commit to a workshop or booth due to cost, we still want your expertise! Please still fill out the form so we can look for options to work with you to provide sponsorship.

3) Mentor
Time commitment: 30-min. virtual prep meeting on March 7, 2024 4:00 & March 14, 2024 10:30-1:30 in person.

We need hundreds of mentors to come in the afternoon for 3 hours. Mentors will sit with up to 10 students in the main hall during lunch, chatting about your work and experience, and then mentor the group while they are working on a real world problem solving activity. Mentors are so important to this event and really have an impact on these students!

4) Volunteer
Time commitment: flexible, March 13-14, 2024

This event requires so many helping hands to make it run smoothly and provide a fun and engaging experience for the students. Volunteer times are flexible to what you can contribute. Typical set up, event, and tear down times are as follows:
  • Set Up: Wednesday March 13, 2024, 2:00-8:00pm
  • Morning Preparation & Event Execution: Thursday March 14, 2024, 7:00am-1:00pm
  • Tear Down: Thursday March 14, 2024 1:00-4:00pm
