At our November gathering, we will hear testimony from Christie Moore. She and her husband have been married for 18 years and are the parents of four children. She cherishes cozy family movie nights, enjoys writing, loves matcha tea, and delights in everything related to the beach, water, and sunshine.
Having walked with Jesus for as long as she can remember, she once felt she lacked a significant “testimony.” However, after being challenged by a season of busyness of life and ministry, she discovered the profound meaning of “Be still and know that I am God” while sitting at the feet of Jesus and reconnecting with her first love.
Doors open at 6:45 PM | Program begins at 7 PM
The Well was initially established as a ministry in Grand Rapids by Anne Jansen, inspired by the story of the woman at the well found in John chapter 4 of the Bible. This story centers on a Samaritan woman, marginalized and shunned because of her past, who comes to draw water during the hottest part of the day to avoid others. Burdened by feelings of shame and isolation, she approaches the well, only to have her life transformed by an encounter with Jesus.
Jesus sees her for who she truly is, understands her struggles, and offers her the living water that only He can provide. This moment of being truly seen, known, and loved alters her life completely. So profoundly affected by this encounter, she leaves her water jar behind and rushes back to share the good news of Jesus with the very people who judged and rejected her.
In October of 2023, a leadership team of nine women, who had been praying, planning, and dreaming, launched the first gathering of The Well in Lansing. In the past year, women from our community have shared their personal experiences with Jesus, highlighting the hope, peace, and purpose that have emerged from these encounters.
Similar to the woman at the well, we hope our monthly gatherings provide a place for you to find rest, hope, encouragement, and freedom - a space where you can feel accepted, loved, renewed, and transformed by the power of the gospel.
