Summation of the competition would occur in this section. This gives a quick overview of the entire competition (synopsis). This will allow people reading the report to identify any areas that they should look at first. This is especially important for SSC ODC. Any positive ideas or serious concerns from the chief referee about the competition should be summarized here. Give an overview of the course of the competition. Highlight critical points.
Officials and Comments

This area will deal with evaluating assistant referees and starters as well as the meet organizer. Please enter the names of the officials and your comments. This area would also identify good points or areas that need improvement by the officials. It is important that any written feedback good or bad must be discussed with the official's being assessed. Most officials want constructive criticism so they can improve. If you have been assigned specific individual assessments by the ODC please use the referee assessment form: http://www.speedskating.ca/officials/resources/forms If you have an exceptional official (other than the major officials) that you feel should be mentioned, please include it here and add their name with comments. This section will focus on the evaluation of officials at the meeting. Enter the names of the officials vis-à-vis their function and record the positive points as well as the points for improvement. It is important that all written comments, good or bad, should be discussed with officials. If you have been assigned to an individual evaluation, use the Referee Evaluation Form: http://www.speedskating.ca/fr/officiels/ressources/formulaires. 


Weather and Ice Conditions

Any problems with the ice conditions whether that be problems with ice breakdown, equipment breakdown, ice equipment operator issues, etc. Ice surface temperature vs air temperature. Was the track certified? Be sure to carefully note weather conditions for any outside competitions, preferably those from Environment Canada or a local weather station. Any impact of weather conditions on specific races should be noted to ensure all competitors get fair racing conditions in their groups. Have you had any problems with ice conditions, repairs, equipment breakdowns, questions with the resurface operator etc.? The surface temperature was good. Be sure to note the weather conditions for outdoor competitions, preferably those of Environment Canada or a local station. Any impact of weather conditions on races to ensure fairness towards groups.
Program and Schedule

Discussion about were there any issues with the program and schedule for the competition. Note the impact of weather issues on schedule for outdoor competitions. Was the procedural guide properly drafted? Do you have any suggestions for improving the guide? Record delays due to temperature.
Meetings/Draw/Team Leaders (Coaches) Meetings

Note how the relevant events noted above and  were set-up and run. Comment on any positive items or concerns raised at these meetings. Did you have any positive comments or concerns raised at the meeting?
Safety

This would be any general comments on safety and: was the padding adequate, any issues with the venue, etc? Please note any serious injuries that occurred at the meet and in particular it is important to note any concussions here as this is a significant issue for speedskating.? General comments about safety, protective mattresses or with the site? Note serious injuries during competition, it is important to note concussions.
Volunteers (Timers, Place Judges, Electronics, Clerk of the Course, etc.)

Did the volunteers have any issues? Was the electronic system working well,? Did the electronic start work with no issues. Did everyone arrive back to start each session of the competition on time, etc. Please make sure you comment on all areas. "No issues" can be used as a full sentence for each sub heading. Have you had any problems with volunteers? All the volunteers were on time for the start of the races? Record good points and areas for improvement. Have you had any problems with the electronic devices (photo finish, start system, etc.)?
Results Reporting

Race results need to be posted to the SSC website. Make sure the recorders post to the website ASAP. If there are any issues posting to the website it should be mentioned here. Was there a website issue, was a formal protocol published, Etc? Race results must be posted on SSC's website. Make sure they are posted as soon as possible. If there have been any problems with the website, you should mention them, etc.  Number of false starts should be included in this section.


Overall Competition Comments/Additional Comments On The Conduct Of The Competition

Bring any issue forward about the overall competition positives and improvements required such as; announcer and PA system, master clock problems, coaches, line of sight to observe racing, etc. Start problems: height of starter area, etc. track not being installed properly and had to be redone, etc. Provide any comments on the course of the competition, e.g. sound, timed schedule, coaches, call, etc.
