Nose Work Trial Volunteer/Staff Sign-Up Form
Thank you so much for volunteering or staffing for the upcoming NACSW K9 Nose Work Trial(s)!

Your time and effort are truly appreciated.

Trial dates are listed below.

Volunteer/staff dates, times, and position opportunities are as noted. While we will try to accommodate your preferred volunteer position request, we cannot guarantee you the position you requested and hope that you will understand that we may need to place you where you are needed over where you prefer.

**ALL VOLUNTEER/STAFF TIME SLOTS ARE APPROXIMATE, DETAILS WILL BE SENT 2-4 DAYS BEFORE THE TRIAL

Volunteers/staff will be provided a lunch, snacks and water, coffee, tea. You should eat breakfast before you arrive, lunch typically happens sometime between 11:30 am and 1:00 pm depending on the flow of the trial day.

Volunteers/staff will need to bring appropriate clothing and sturdy comfortable shoes for the trial, you may be outside for extended periods of time in whatever weather is happening; hot, cold, sun, rain, snow, wind, etc. You may make notes on any capabilities/limitations below.

Unless it is absolutely necessary you should plan to leave your dog(s) at home when volunteering/staffing.  (If you are from out of town and volunteering/staffing on the opposite day you are trialing your dog(s) should be comfortable staying in your vehicle unattended for 2-3 hours without a break, they must also remain quiet, you must provide appropriate shade or warmth for your dog, and they must be safely contained and not able to get out of your vehicle.  You may have to park some distance from the core of the trial site, the volunteer/staff parking area is typically different from the competitor parking area.)

All volunteers are required to follow all applicable rules and guidelines found in the NACSW K9 Nose Work Trial Rule Book and any requested by the trial host at any specific trial.  This includes things such as only walking your dog in specific designated areas, leash rules, photo and video rules, and conduct representative of NACSW.

Please review the trial Premium for details about the specific trial site you are volunteering/staffing for as some locations may have unusual terrain or environments.  You can view the trial Premium here: NoseWorkTrial.com

If you have any questions, please email:  noseworktrial@gmail.com  Please include the trial location and dates when inquiring.

You will be required to fill out the liability waiver, you can do so now at this link, you will also get a reminder to do so closer to the trial.  LIABILITY WAIVER LINK

Do you have a vehicle(s) that could be used for searches? *
Vehicle should not have had odor in/on it for at least 2 months prior to the trial date. Your dogs are not allowed to be in the vehicle during the search, you will need to leave them at home.  (Not all trial levels will need vehicles for searches.)
Vehicle make and model available for searches:
Must arrive early with your vehicle.  Cannot have a dog inside of vehicle.  Vehicle exterior should be recently washed before use at trial.
I understand I must adhere to all applicable rules and guidelines found in the NACSW K9 Nose Work Trial Rule Book and any guidelines requested by the trial host at any specific trial you are volunteering at.  This includes things such as ONLY walking your dog in specific designated areas, all leash rules, photo and video rules, and good sportsmanship conduct as a volunteer representative of NACSW. *
Inappropriate actions such as letting your dog off-leash or leaving dog waste could lead to immediate and/or future loss of use of a trial site and/or other issues, including dismissal of a volunteer and/or competitor.

There are many important reasons the rules and guidelines exist, which may not be obvious, but do have value and are there for a specific reason.  Thank you for your consideration and attention to this.
