About Smarties LLC
Smarties is owned by licensed, highly qualified educator & administrator, Mrs. Talaya Holland.  All sessions are between 30-55 minutes long. Sessions are facilitated by NC educators and/or highly qualified tutors. Students who consistently attend the program show growth in classwork, organizational skills, EOGs, and EOCs.

A Message from our Director-
"Over the course of 12 years, my career in education has been marked by a rich tapestry of roles, each contributing to my depth of knowledge and proficiency in fostering academic growth and support.

Beginning as a dedicated educator, I took on the responsibility of guiding and mentoring students while designing comprehensive lesson plans that engaged and inspired active learning. This experience further refined my instructional strategies.

My role with exceptional children, helped me to develop a nuanced understanding of individualized teaching methods to cater to diverse learning needs.

My tenure as a Reading Interventionist allowed me to specialize in literacy development, implementing targeted interventions to enhance reading skills among students facing challenges. I implemented research based programs and personalized approaches that significantly improved student comprehension and fluency.

Stepping into the role of a Media Coordinator, I leveraged technology and various media resources to create an enriched learning environment. I facilitated access to diverse educational materials, integrated multimedia into the curriculum, while empowering students and staff with valuable resources for learning and research.

Throughout my career, my passion for fostering an inclusive and engaging learning environment for students, coupled with my hands-on experience across multiple educational roles, continues to be the driving force behind my dedication to the field of education."

Services
Organizational Skills Development- 5th-12th grade
30 minute sessions, once a week for 4 weeks.
  • Soft Skills such as time management, decision making, ect.
  • Maximize use of technology
  • Self discipline
  • Problem Solving
Testing Strategies- 3rd-12th grade
30 minutes sessions, once a week for 4 weeks.
  • Strategies according to the question type. ex: Multiple choice, short answer ect. 
  • Smart Tips
  • Curriculum specific strategies.
Private Tutoring- Pre-Kindergarten-6th grade
30-55 minute sessions, minimum of 6-weeks.
  • Intentional, subject specific sessions

Payment Information
Smarties Educational Services Payment Policy

  • All clients may pay Bi-weekly or for the entire contract in full. Payments are to be made via invoice, by debit or credit card.

  • Payments made after the due date will result in a $10 late charge per session.

  • In the event that the client must miss a session, a 24 hr notice is required. Client is responsible to pay for missed session if 24 hr notice is not given.

  • In the event that the session is canceled by instructor, client will be credited for missed session.

  • Client is expected to attend all scheduled sessions without weekly reminder.

  • Tutor will log onto virtual session and remain online for 15 minutes. On the 16th minute tutor will log-off and session will be counted as a no show. No refund is awarded to client in the event of a no show.

  • No additional time is given when a client arrives late for session. As to ensure all sessions run on time.

  • Saturday tutoring sessions are available for an additional $10 per session.

Private Tutoring

30 min sessions: $20 per session

1 session per week: $35 per hour

2 sessions: $30 per hour

2 Subjects:

2 sessions (1 session per subject): $30 per hour 

Saturday sessions: an additional $10 per session
