How can Centering our History Shape our Practice?
In this zui, we will explore some key relational concepts in Te Ao Māori, and examine how these shaped early interactions with Europeans. The early encounters - including the reasons for the formation of Te Wakaminenga o Ngā Hapū o Nu Tīreni | The Confederation of Chiefs, and the subsequent Declaration of Independence | He Whakaputanga, are powerful learning for everyone. As well as taking these learnings back to weave into your learning programmes with ākonga, this hour long workshop will give more context to the WHY of Culturally Responsive Pedagogies. Brought to you in a mindful, interactive and fun session. I hope you’ll join me for this kaupapa.
