An exciting opportunity is here for those who are interested!
IVC wants to send 5 students to A²MEND’s 2023 16th Annual Summit.The summit is hosted by the African American Male Education Network & Development (A²MEND), a nonprofit comprising African American male educators, who voluntarily use their professional expertise to operate a statewide mentoring program for Black male college students.
A²MEND's mission is to work to ensure the interest and success of African American students, faculty, staff and administrators at California’s community colleges. A²MEND educators utilize their scholarly and professional expertise to foster institutional change within the community college system to increase success of African American male students.

The Black Student Success Scholars program is inviting 5 students to the 16th Annual African American Male Educators Network & Development (A2MEND) conference. The conference is focused on Black males from the California Community College level. All are welcome to attend even if you don’t identify as a Black male.
The conference is from
March 2nd – 3rd at the Hyatt Regency LAX in
Los Angeles, CA. We will stay
overnight for two nights and participates will arrive late afternoon or early evening on
March 1st. The conference begins promptly at
8 am on March 2nd. The Black Student Success Scholars program will pay for students to attend and stay overnight.
You’ll be responsible for arriving to the conference and taking yourself back home since transportation will not be provided for this trip. We will sign you up for the conference. Here’s the link for further details:
