The Root Riders Program runs for six weeks, July 8th through August 15th, 2024. Students are expected to work approximately 15-20 hours per week, Mondays through Thursdays. They will receive an hourly rate of $15 per hour.
Two adult leaders will teach garden skills, hands-on business skills, and preparation of produce for donation at ACT's Mondays in Miantonomi. Planting, tending, and harvesting of fruits, vegetables, and herbs will take place in ACT's Newport North End gardens. The group will travel from site to site by bicycle. A bicycle safety class will be provided at the start of the program, attendance is required.
