SAGE Learning Systems hosts a series of remote (online) ESDM Advanced Workshops. The remote workshops consist of 6 mandatory live sessions, in which attendees must submit 3-4 videos of themselves and an autistic child aged 1- 4 years (e.g., administering curriculum checklist, implementing ESDM strategies, etc.).
Participants will be placed in groups of 3-5 and will either meet once or twice per week, depending on the needs of the group or trainer.
To participate in the Advanced Workshop, participants are required to meet the following criteria:
- Successful completion of the Online ESDM Introductory Workshop, with the inclusion of a certificate of completion. Please email a copy of your ESDM Introductory Workshop Certificate to info@sagelearningsystems.com
- Possession and thorough reading of the "Early Start Denver Model for Young Children with Autism, Promoting Language, Learning, and Engagement" manual by Rogers & Dawson
- Have a copy of the original ESDM Curriculum Checklist.
- Regular engagement with children aged 0-48 months with autism.
- Obtain parent or guardian permission to record and share your sessions during the workshop
- Possess an educational degree and professional licensure or certification, allowing independent practice in working with children with autism and their families.
- Participation as part of an interdisciplinary team, such as a general/special education teacher, developmental/clinical psychologist, SLP, OT, or behavior analyst.
- The ability to independently supervise cases, establish goals, and monitor the progress of children.
Additionally, for remote advanced workshops participants must:
- Identify the child with whom you will work during the 6 weeks of the ESDM Advanced Workshop.
- For remote workshops, you will not be actively engaging with a child during the scheduled workshop times.
- Possess a copy of the book "An Early Start for Your Child with Autism: Using Everyday Activities to Help Kids Connect, Communicate, and Learn" by Rogers, Vismara, & Dawson.
- Acquire the necessary consent from the child's parents to record and share your one-on-one sessions.
- Recording your therapy sessions with the child and sharing them with the group during the weekly workshop is essential
Technology Requirements
- Video conference software (i.e., Zoom meetings)
- Device to video sessions
- Ability to share videos of sessions during meeting times
- A secure platform to share videos with your ESDM Certified Trainer
