Membership in the OWU Chamber Orchestra is open to all qualified OWU students on string, woodwind, brass, and percussion instruments. We perform one concert per semester featuring a wide range of repertoire from Bach and Mozart to Tchaikovsky and Stravinsky.

Rehearsals: Tues. 7:00-8:00 pm and Thurs. 7:00-9:30 pm

Prior performance in an orchestral setting is typical for our musicians. However, a few passionate students have utilized OWU’s private lesson program (and a lot of practice) to become meaningful contributors to our performances.

Auditions will take place during the first week of classes. Audition date, time, and location TBD. To indicate your interest in auditioning for the chamber orchestra, please enter your information into this questionnaire. You will be contacted later about an audition time.

Your audition will include two examples of your performance ability:

A short lyrical excerpt that demonstrates tone quality and melodic expression.
A short technical excerpt that demonstrates range, rhythmic facility, articulation, and fast passage dexterity.
