EEAI is the local host of the RISE Challenge Illinois, managed by Earth Force and sponsored by FEMA and ASFPM. The challenge represents an innovative approach to prepare citizens to play a role in community resilience and it is open to both formal and non-formal educators and their students.

We love this program and are excited to continue expanding it here in Illinois but we need you to act as a Judge and help make the magic happen!
What is a RISE Judge?
A judge is a content expert, supporter, and/or educator who is passionate about project based learning and environmental action civics.
What does a RISE Judge do?
We are looking for summit judges to review student projects before our RISE Summit. This involves using a rubric to review student projects in the couple of weeks leading up to the summit. We also hope our judges can attend our RISE Summit on May 19th to see our students be awarded their prizes. Last year our judges helped us give away $8,000 to support student led civic action projects in Illinois!
What is the timeline?
RISE Judges will view student presentations the week of May 5th through 12th. Using a provided rubric, judges will assess projects and help rank student projects. Judges are also invited to be present for our virtual RISE Summit on May 19th from 12pm to 2pm. There student groups will be awarded their prize money and have the opportunity to further showcase their hard work.
