Midway Cemetery Preservation Project
Midway CME in Thomasville, GA was founded in the 1800s, and served as the primary church (and later, school) for locally enslaved people, and later, their freed descendants. There are reports that there was a time that over 200 enslaved people congregated here.

We recently discovered that this cemetery has been totally neglected, and taken over by nature. The small fraction of what can be seen today, has been cleared by a single former attendee. It has taken three years for him to uncover what has been done so far.

There are still countless graves beyond those woods.

We are honored to be able to bring this important burial site back to the condition it deserves BUT WE NEED YOUR HELP!

+ YOU CAN CONTRIBUTE MONETARILY TO THE CAUSE: Contributions will go directly to equipment to clear the area, cleaning supplies, and professional consulting to survey the cemetery. The GoFundMe is here: https://gofund.me/b72ac41c
