Expressions of Interest: Methodology Workshop with Prof. Richa Nagar
Please fill out this form to express your interest in participating in a methodology workshop with Prof. Richa Nagar on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 @ 1.30-3.30 pm (Room 111 in Arch Annex; see note on in-person and online format below). The workshop proposes to think collectively about the possibilities and the limits of critical, collaborative, and/or feminist methodologies for politically meaningful knowledge production.

The workshop will start with a reading and discussion of Prof. Nagar's latest book, "Hungry Translations: Relearning the World through Radical Vulnerability," which will form the basis for our discussion, that will build on participants' own research experiences and methodologies.

Participants are expected to 1) have read "Hungry Translations" and 2) bring discussion points and questions in regard to their own research that stem from or speak to themes in the book. Finally, 3) we are exploring the possibility of the workshop leading to a collaborative piece, to be submitted to a non-traditional journal, such as the "Journal of Narrative Politics" or others. Our collaboration will thus not comprise a traditional, co-authored academic paper, and we are open to participants' ideas and desires in this task. We therefore ask that participants indicate their interest in collaborating to create such a piece, whose format is still to be collectively defined.

Note on virtual/in-person format: In case of worsening travel restrictions due to COVID-19, the session will be held entirely in remote/online format, and the session will be accessible over Zoom for those who cannot or prefer not to meet in person.

You can contact Prof. Desiree Poets (dpoets@vt.edu) with any questions!
