Student requests for a class change BEFORE SCHOOL will be considered during the time period listed below above (8/12/2020-8/19/2020 @ 11:59pm)

Change requests will be made via this "Course Request Change" form.  

A list of "open classes" for possible changes are posted on Dr. Dowski's web site: www.visioncsdcounselor.weebly.com Please remember that requests for changes are not guaranteed and not all classes will be available for enrollment.

Once school starts, class change requests will be considered during the FIRST few days of school only, 8/26-8/29/2020.

General Schedule Information:

If you note an error in your schedule, you may email Dr. Dowski and the error may be corrected prior to the beginning of school if possible. (An example of an error is a missing core class like math or English, two scheduled math classes, a senior level student who has not taken Health and is not scheduled to do so, an 8th grade student who has not taken MS Health or PE and is not scheduled to do so, etc.)  

Please remember that some classes may have been added to a student's schedule per teacher recommendation, per a student's priority choices, or due to availability of classes. All MS students must have a semester of PE and Health by end of 8th grade. Please note that support classes are inserted into your schedule to assist the student in success in core classes. ONLY ELECTIVE COURSES ARE ABLE TO BE REQUESTED TO CHANGE. (For MS, that includes non-support, elective classes in periods 2, 4, and 7)

"See Counselor Study Hall" = a class has not yet been selected for that time period and the counselor will offer virtual office time prior to the beginning of school to discuss options or discuss via email. Students can schedule an office time at https://visioncounselordowski.youcanbook.me/ 

"Tutoring Practicum" = These sections are for students who have requested to assist teachers in the classroom. Due to the first semester (Fall) being distance learning, assisting teachers will be limited.  TUTORING PLACEMENTS MAY NOT HAVE BEEN MADE as of 8/12/2020. Teachers will have until 8/14/2020 to make selections. PLEASE DO NOT contact individual teachers to ask for a placement. HAVING A TA PERIOD IN YOUR SCHEDULE ON 8/12/2020 DOES NOT GUARANTEE YOU HAVE AN ASSIGNMENT. YOU WILL BE NOTIFIED ON 8/15/2020 IF YOU NEED TO SELECT A DIFFERENT CLASS FOR THAT PERIOD. STUDENTS SELECTED BY TEACHERS MAY RECEIVE AN INVITATION TO THE TEACHER'S EDMODO CLASSROOM (FYI)  It is anticipated that very few TAs will be selected for a virtual assignment. However, VCS has added some additional independent electives that might interest you as a replacement (see website).

"No Scheduled Course" (8th Grade students) = change calendar to high school in the portal and any HS classes will appear in the new HS calendar.

Transfer students and parents: Please contact the main office on or after August 4th if you would like assistance setting up your Infinite Campus portal.  Please set up a time with Dr. Dowski if you would like to discuss schedules, HS academic tracks, etc. https://visioncounselordowski.youcanbook.me/

IDLA FALL Registration: If you are scheduled to take an IDLA class and have not yet registered for the fall class, please email Dr. Dowski to discuss classes to complete the paperwork to enroll prior to the beginning of the school year. Class selection will diminish as the summer progresses towards the first day of school and it is recommended that you register early. You can look at available courses at www.idahodigitallearning.org 

PERIOD CHANGES: Due to changes in the schedule to accommodate distance learning, periods have changed. What used to be period 1A now is labeled 1; period 1B is now labeled period 2; what was period 2 now = period 3, and so forth. There are seven periods per day.
