The Costa Rica Corps is a virtual volunteering initiative that seeks to connect people who love Costa Rica with organizations and individuals who need their help (read more at
costaricacorps.org). In this pathway, developed in coordination with support from the Peace Corps and in coordination with the U.S. nonprofit Amigos of Costa Rica, which represents more than 100 Costa Rican nonprofits, volunteers will be paired with an Amigos of Costa Rica nonprofit affiliate that needs support to improve its communications and/or fundraising capacity. After an initial Zoom with Costa Rica Corps and Amigos staff, volunteers will coach their nonprofit counterparts to improve their online presence and outreach. Ideal for virtual volunteers with experience in nonprofit leadership, fundraising, and/or communications. Spanish proficiency useful but not required.
Volunteers will commit 12 weeks (the first round will take place from Jan. 25-April 9, 2021, including one week of orientation and one week of wrapup/feedback), with a maximum commitment of 5 hours per week. Volunteers will receive a manual and resource guide, and an orientation session via Zoom including the program partners who helped us develop these pathways. Volunteers will also have weekly access to support to ensure they have a successful experience.
