Big Data 101 describes the massive amount of structured and unstructured data that floods a business daily. However, it’s not the volume of data that’s significant as much as what organizations do with it. Analyzing big data is beneficial for insights that result in making better strategic business moves and decisions.

Big data is produced by everything around us continually, such as every social media exchange and digital process. Mobile devices, sensors, and systems transmit big data, which is arriving from multiple sources at an alarming variety, volume, and velocity. IoT extract meaningful value, you need excellent skills, analytics capabilities, and optimal processing power.

Big Data 101 is shaping the way employees join forces and collaborate with each other within organizations. The resulting culture forces IT and business leaders to work together to effectuate value from big data. Insights from big data can enable all employees to make better decisions, leading to optimizing operations, deepening customer engagement, capitalizing on new sources of revenue, and preventing threats and fraud. Increasing demand requires a radically new approach to practices, tools, and architecture, including:

-Decision making. Decision making is shifting to the empowered many from the elite few.

-Competitive advantage. Big Data 101 is emerging as the world’s newest resource for competitive advantage.
