The purpose of this form is purely to express your interest in helping the ULAB CogSci Lab out as a graduate student mentor for the 2021-2022 school year. By no mean does filling this form out lock you into any sort of commitment. After receiving your responses to this form, we will reach out to set up a one-on-one meeting to answer any questions or clarify responsibilities.

Berkeley ULAB is an undergrad-led organization on campus that helps other undergrads gain research and professional skills that they're not able to build inside the classroom or obtain in the lab due to a lack of available RA positions.

Benefits in joining ULAB:
* You want to dip your toes in the mentoring pool without fully committing to taking on an RA.
* You like mentoring students, but you don't have a project that needs an RA.
* You've had RAs in the past, but felt like you haven't been able to contribute to their professional development as much as you'd like.

Ulab Grad Student Commitments:
* Help select research papers
* Meet with your mentor groups (based on the paper) about once a month
* Aid mentor groups when requested & provide them resources
* Help edit a couple papers at the end of each semester
 
Time Commitment: Generally a few hours per month. During Winter Break and April 2022, we will ask for some paper edits for your mentor group(s).

Funding: Possible stipends are in the works for grad student mentors, although not concrete at the moment. Due to the difficulty involved in obtaining funding, please apply under the assumption that financial compensation will not be provided.
