Please turn to page 52 and 53. You will need to learn the following prayers. If you practiced any of them this past week, then please put a check next to the prayer. *
Required
Please watch the following two short videos, each under 3 minutes, and then answer the following questions.
In the Catechism of the Catholic Church, paragraph 1285, it says, "Baptism, the Eucharist, and the sacrament of Confirmation together constitute the 'sacraments of Christian initiation,' whose unity must be safeguarded. It must be explained to the faithful that the reception of the sacrament of Confirmation is necessary for the completion of baptismal grace. For 'by the sacrament of Confirmation, [the baptized] are more perfectly bound to the Church and are enriched with a special strength of the Holy Spirit. Hence they are, as true witnesses of Christ, more strictly obliged to spread and defend the faith by word and deed." Sound good?  *
Here is the Eucharistic quote for this week: "In communion the soul seems more sweetly bound to God and better knows his truth. For then the soul is in God and God is in the soul." This is a quote from Saint Catherine of Siena. You just read about the sacrament of the Eucharist above as a sacrament of initiation. How should we understand the word "initiation"? Choose the answer that best aligns with your thinking. *
Write a short reflection on what grace means to you (at least 5 sentences) *
