Application: King County Council CARES Act Financial Support for Farmers Markets
The King County Council has allocated $410,000 from a CARES Act block grant to King County farmers markets. All CARES Act funding must strictly follow federal guidelines and be distributed by December 31, 2020.

King County will issue emergency relief funding up to $10,000 for each farmers markets impacted by COVID-19. Farmers markets will need to a) submit this application; b) sign a contract with King County; and c) submit a reimbursement requset for eligible expenses incurred due to COVID-19 by November 15, 2020. The WSFMA is partnering with King County to assist farmers markets with this process.

KEY DATES:
October 15: Target for getting all contracts between King County and farmers markets finalized.
October 19: Quarterly King County Market Manager Meeting (for updates)
*** November 15: Deadline for receiving reimbursement requests.
December 15: Latest date that reimbursement checks will be issued from King County.

The current maximum reimbursement is $10,000. Eligible expenses include increased personnel and operating costs due to COVID19, lost market days and vendor revenue, and SNAP Market Match (not covered by DOH or other sources). A complete description of all eligible expenses will be included in your funding contract. We will have a webinar to answer reimbursement questions. For now, estimates will work.
