Introduction: What do you do when you feel sorry for having done something mean or hurtful? Most of you would want to say that they are sorry or they want to make peace with the person they hurt. When we don't keep God's commandments and we don't act like Jesus we refer to that as sin. We are lucky though because God wants to forgive us. And he does that through a priest in the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Let's read more about how God forgives our sins. Please turn to page 2 in your Lesson 5 and read "God Forgives Our Sins" and "Our Priest Gives Us God's Forgiveness" and then answer the questions below.

Super job! The prayer that you read at the end of this lesson is the prayer that the priest says during the Sacrament of Reconciliation that lets us know that God forgives our sins. Find the "I Forgive" sticker and place it on the cross shape on your lesson page. The priest says the words "I forgive you".  He is acting in the place of Jesus who wants to assure us that God forgives us just as the merciful father in Lesson 4 forgave his son. Because God forgives us, Jesus wants us to forgive one another.
Reconciliation Word Search and "I Forgive You" Coloring Sheet (attached to the Lesson 2 link in my email):  Now it is time to complete a word search puzzle that uses many of the words we have learned over the past several lessons such as: Reconciliation, absolution, forgiveness and sin just to name a few. See how many words you can find. And think about their meaning as you work on the word search puzzle. Then when you are done have some fun coloring in your "I Forgive You" coloring sheet. Then cut it out and place it somewhere to remind you that we need to forgive others if we want to be forgiven.  And don't forget to send me pictures of your completed work!!
