***UPDATE added on 1.10.22***
The deadline to submit the interest form has been extended to February 3rd. We have delayed the start of the in-person rehearsals due to the current Covid-19 surge. We are hopeful that our first rehearsals will be in the first week of February but will keep you updated as we get closer to the date.

***ORIGINAL MESSAGE***

DEADLINE to submit interest form - Monday, January 10, 2022

ONE interest form PER PERSON

To mark Black History Month in February 2022 we would like to create a choir to learn and perform two songs. The first song, "Lift Every Voice and Sing" written and composed by the Johnson brothers. The second song, "It's Time" by The Winans, an American Gospel group. All Meridian students in grades 1-12, staff, and alumni are invited to participate - NO EXPERIENCE REQUIRED.

We plan to perform in person at the end of February. More information coming soon.

The version of 'Lift Every Voice and Sing' will be a two-part Choir arrangement. 'It's TIme' will be sung in unison (all the same vocal line). The rehearsal details will be provided in early January. We anticipate that most of the rehearsals will take place in person. We ask that everyone mask while indoors to keep our community healthy.

Performance Day T-shirt order forms will be available during the second week of January.

DON'T DELAY... SIGN UP TO PARTICIPATE IN THE CHOIR TODAY! Submit the interest form today to receive the lyrics, rehearsal tracks/song and so you can start practicing on your own. We ask that everyone learn the lyrics prior to the start of our in person rehearsals in mid January.
