Abiquiú Studio Tour participant agreement
This section contains information critical to your participation in the Studio Tour. We recommend you save, copy, photograph, transcribe, or otherwise preserve this section for your knowledge and future reference.
We're all in this together.
The Abiquiú Studio Tour exists and thrives each year because of an entire extended community coming together with time, skills, and (of course) creativity. We all know that the Tour isn't built in a weekend -- those three beautiful days in early autumn are the result of months of dedication and support from Studio Tour participants, the Abiquiú Arts Council board, and community members who just want to pitch in.

For the Tour to continue supporting arts and artists in our neck of the desert, it needs participants to continue supporting these efforts. After all, we are all in this together -- and keeping the Tour inclusive for all means that it needs the support of everyone involved. 

As an artist registering for the Abiquiú Studio Tour, I agree to fulfill my responsibilities as part of bettering the Tour for everyone.
  • I agree to fill out this registration form to the best of my ability so that those people helping with social media, tour maps, and website maintenance have the best information available.
  • I agree to send 3-5 horizontal images to studiotourimages@gmail.com before May 10 (or ask for help in doing so), and I understand that if I do not, I may not have images on this year's map or website. (Please indicate which one photo you'd like used as the Featured Image on the website and on the map; please also include your first and last name and/or business name in the image file name, such as FirstLastImage2.jpg or FirstLastFeaturedImage.jpg.)
  • I agree to pay my registration fees between March 16 and May 10 to ensure the successful advertising and promotion of the Tour. (Details below.)
  • I agree to complete my Tour Committee participation to the best of my ability, recognizing that this level of involvement and engagement is truly necessary for the Tour's success as a community-built effort. I also understand and acknowledge that if I fail to participate as a volunteer (or make a good-faith effort to do so), as verified by a committee chair or board member, I will be ineligible to participate in the next year's Tour.
Similarly, if I am participating as a tour host and/or a gallery, I agree to participate in the spirit of the Abiquiú Studio Tour as an event built by its participants. 
  • I agree to make certain that all artists with a physical presence (themselves plus their art) at my location -- regardless of whether or not I exhibit their artwork outside the Tour -- are fully registered members of the Tour. I understand that this is my duty to prevent artists from piggybacking on the Tour member's efforts and to keep the Tour as a member-supported endeavor.
  • I agree that if I host artists in this way, breaking the social contract of the Tour, I may be ineligible to participate as an artist, host, or gallery in the next year's Tour.
Because this year's Tour Registration is online instead of in person, I agree to make payment in full before May 10 in one of these ways:

  • By cash, to an Arts Council board member at the April board meeting (Wednesday, April 5)
Most importantly of all, I agree to be an ambassador for the Studio Tour and to help make sure that all my fellow artists and neighbors succeed in this year's Tour!

Scholarship program
This year, the Abiquiú Studio Tour is implementing a scholarship program available to first-time participants, to young artists, to early-career artists, and on a need-based basis. Participants will be selected by drawing at a future Arts Council board meeting. Recipients will have their registration fee refunded for that year.
