Each 1 Teach 1 Volunteer Application
Welcome to E1T1, a global technology and engineering education and workforce development nonprofit that empowers individuals, including girls and people of all backgrounds, to become leaders, creators, and ready for a career in tech. We are delighted to extend the opportunity for you to share your expertise, be a role model, inspire and support a student or family to tackle real-world problems.
Be a Mentor
Connect directly with interns as they learn about technology and create a tech product to solve a community problem. Mentors are volunteers who are trained coders and technologists who study or work in the field. They agree to train at least one mentee, at least once a week, for at least one hour for six weeks. They may help onsite or remotely, from anywhere in the world. They support learners using the automated online curricula, and help learners build confidence and find jobs.
Support individual learners and interns
Provide feedback to teams as they’re building their projects
Provide encouragement and model persistence, courage, and creativity as teams embark on a challenging program
Time commitment: 1 hour/week for 6 weeks
Be a Judge
Provide valuable feedback to teams of interns or girls on the apps they built from scratch – no tech background needed.
Offer feedback on apps submitted to our E1T1 program
Encourage and support participants remotely, through our online judging platform
Help girls refine their ideas and encourage them to keep building
Volunteer from the comfort of home
Be a Guest Speaker
Connect with teams of interns, families or girls as a one-time Guest Speaker. Answer questions, and share feedback in a workshop or webinar with families or girls.
Support teams in-person, or remotely via webinar or video call
Work in a group with other volunteers
One-time volunteer engagement
Time commitment: 3 hours + 30 minute online training
Be a Content Creator
Help us create materials to engage communities, families and girls as they learn about cutting edge technology and how to use it to solve community problems.
Develop content like short videos and blog posts to add to our curriculum
Inspire families and girls by talking about the big ideas that keep you curious in your work
Time commitment: Ranges from 2 hours to 20 hours based on content created and planned use.
One hour a week for six weeks is all it takes to be a *Star!* for a lifetime. We seek volunteer mentors, especially but not exclusively technology-capable, to work in person or remotely with students to help them with questions about their lessons, job search, or first job, encourage them, and share your stories about trying to break into the technology field. We can't all volunteer for hours and years. But if everyone helps out one person for a few hours, that's enough to make a difference!
Your contribution will be remembered for a lifetime.
