Shaarai Shomayim Mitzvah Day 2021
Our faith commands us to do mitzvot; to do good deeds. In recognition of this central tenant, Congregation Shaarai Shomayim is devoting May 2, 2021, as our day of doing good deeds. In preparation for this important event, we have developed a list of local organizations for projects or activities where our congregation can do our good deeds.

Each of these agencies or organizations has been directly contacted and all are very much looking forward to working with our congregation as we honor our faith in doing these good deeds.
Mitzvah Day will start with a Zoom service at 9:30, and then starting at 10 congregants will perform their service activity looking for an end of around noon.

In addition, we will have an opportunity for congregants to work with “Mitzvah Moms," a group formed by two Shaarai Shomayim congregants who are making care packages to families impacted by COVID-19.

For Mitzvah Day, there are two options:
1. Adopt a family and make a Covid care package.
2. Adopt a family and Mitzvah Moms will give a “starter kit” with a basket & blanket. Families would be responsible for filling up the basket with additional goodies.

If you would like to work with “Mitzvah Moms” for Mitzvah Day, please contact Gina Krouse and Gena Harting at Mitzvahmomsrock@gmail.com
