Informed Consent: The goal of Holistic Health Counseling and related events, including the Women's Wellness Retreat, is to help you achieve your optimal state of health by increasing that which supports your personal wellbeing and reducing causes of disease symptoms.
During this event, the Women's Wellness Retreat, I, Sarah L. Frederiksen, the Counselor, will use, discuss, demonstrate, and recommend wellness strategies from Ayurveda, Yoga, Child & Family Development, and related social-emotional health approaches. I may ask whether you want to receive hands-on assists or support from me during Yoga or Ayurveda segments of this event. I may observe your physical appearance or ask you questions about your life experiences, including daily routines and habits, food intake, and bodily wastes, among other topics. You always have the right to decline any of the above. And your choice to accept or decline any of the above does not impact your participation.
Addressing or sharing about the above topics may be uncomfortable for some people. If you experience feelings of discomfort that you cannot manage, I encourage you to seek the guidance of a mental health professional. If you are suffering from diagnosed disease(s) or symptoms that have not been evaluated by a modern medical doctor or other health care professional, I encourage you to consult with one.
As the Counselor, I make significant efforts to create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive event environment and experience for all. However, it is ultimately your responsibility, as the participant, to ensure you are capable of participating in the Women's Wellness Retreat. Due to the potential risk of engaging in any non-licensed therapeutic activities, you are encouraged to consult with a health care professional before participating in the Retreat, and/or use your own judgement regarding the limits of your personal capacity.
My credentials include a Master's degree in Child & Family Development, national certification as an Ayurveda Health Counselor (level 1), and national certification as a Yoga Teacher. I am in-training to become a nationally certified Ayurveda Health Practitioner (level 2). I also have extensive training and experience in the above areas and other related therapeutic modalities.
