Applications to be submitted by 31st January 2023
Organisers to select teaching team by 7th February 2023
All applicants will be notified by 11th February 2023
The seventh Dragonrise Witchcamp will take place from 16th August 2023 to 20th August 2023.
Dragonrise serves the Reclaiming community in Europe including the UK although it is open to all. It is a family friendly camp and one path will be suitable for children as well as for adults. It is a small camp with the total number of campers present, including teachers and organisers, likely to be around 30 of all ages. We work in English and need for our teaching team to be fluent English speakers, although we are delighted if you can teach in more languages!
It will take place at Wildways on the Borle (http://www.wildwaysontheborle.co.uk/) where the 2019 camp was held. This is a small and Pagan-owned site with both dorm accommodation and camping. Facilities are simple and sleeping will be on basic mattresses or airbeds. Depending on accommodation needs, teachers may be asked to camp, but tents and bedding etc. can be provided if needed. Unfortunately the site may not be accessible to those with some mobility disabilities.
The organisers are looking for a teaching team comprising two Full teachers and two Student teachers, but are exploring the options. The organisers are aware of the need to build a core of Reclaiming teachers in Europe, so we are particularly encouraging applications from UK/European applicants.
Theme and story
The organisers are in the process of clarifying the theme and story for the 2023 camp.
Dates
We need teachers to be present in the UK and ready to start planning on the morning of 14rd August. We need teachers to be present for post camp debrief and feedback sessions on Sunday 20th August after camp ends at lunch time, thus please do not make travel arrangements that have you leaving the site on Sunday before 6 pm. Pre and post camp sessions are an integral part of our camp process and are not optional.
Travel costs
Travel stipends for teachers will be offered, however the organisers are in the process of budgeting for this and final arrangements will depend on the needs of the team.
Food and accommodation will be provided for pre and post-camp work and for the duration of the camp.
Teachers and organisers will receive a share of any surplus, after setting aside money for the next camp.
