About the Speaker: Dr. Vishal Bhave, Assistant Director (Marine Conservation) at Srushti Conservation Foundation, is a dedicated conservationist with Doctorate and post-graduate degrees in Zoology (Oceanography) from the University of Mumbai. Since 2009, he has contributed significantly to conservation and research, focusing on habitat and species inventories, rapid biodiversity studies, and habitat restoration, especially in mangroves and corals. Vishal's expertise lies in marine invertebrate taxonomy, particularly in Mollusca, and he is skilled in GIS and remote sensing for conservation applications. His work has been recognized with awards such as the Sanctuary-RBS Young Naturalist Award in 2009 and the Species and Habitat Warriors Award in 2023. With a passion for using technology to aid conservation efforts, Vishal's contributions to marine conservation and research are invaluable.
