Survey on Putting In Your Best Effort
Work in this course is assessed based on the effort that you put in. To get started, we need to decide how we define "best effort" and what it means to focus on doing the best we can. Answer the following questions to share your thoughts. We’ll use the answers to make some class guidelines.

Tell me about a time when you put in your best effort. It does not have to be a story about school. A short version of the story is fine, but tell me enough to understand your perspective. I want you to remember your story to help you think about your answers to the rest of the questions.
How can you tell when you put in your best effort? What does it feel like?
What does it look like when you put in your best effort? If someone was watching you, what would they see as you worked?
What do you need to put in your best effort? What do you do to prepare?
What can I do as your teacher to help you put in your best effort? What do you need from me?
Think back over everything you’ve written in this survey. Tell me five words or short phrases that you would use to describe what it means to “put in your best effort.”
If there’s anything else you want me to know about “putting in your best effort,” include it here. You can skip the question otherwise.
