Before and After Care Survey
Since AAPS has chosen to eliminate most of its before and after care spots for the 2021-2022 school year, a team of community partners, including the directors of 15 local childcare centers, BOE Trustee Krystle Dupree, and City Council Member Linh Song, are collaborating to try to meet this need. One of our first steps, along with finding space and transportation, is to assess how many students will need care. If you have kids who need before and/or after care next year, please fill out this survey once for each child. Your information will be accessible only to the survey coordinator and, should we get the space and transportation we need to pull this off, the director of the childcare program where your child is placed.  If demand exceeds the number of available spots, low-income families will get priority.

Note: Since we currently do not have access to the district apparatus for reaching families, we are distributing this survey through multiple avenues -- email, Facebook, Twitter, PTOs, childcare providers, community organizations, etc. Regardless of how many times you receive it, you only need to fill out the survey once per child who needs care.  Also, if you could forward this survey to other AAPS families who need before/after care next year too, that would be a huge help to this effort. Dado que AAPS ha optado por eliminar la mayoría de sus lugares de cuidado antes y después del año escolar 2021-2022, un equipo de socios comunitarios, incluyendo los directores de 15 centros locales de cuidado de niños, la fideicomisaria de BOE Krystle Dupree y la concejal Linh Song, están colaborando para tratar de satisfacer esta necesidad. Uno de nuestros primeros pasos, junto con la búsqueda de espacio y transporte, es evaluar cuántos estudiantes necesitarán cuidado. Si tiene niños que necesitaran cuidado antes y/o después de la escuela el próximo año académico, complete esta encuesta una vez para cada niño. Su información será accesible solo para el coordinador de la encuesta y, si obtenemos el espacio y el transporte que necesitamos para lograrlo, el director del programa de cuidado infantil donde su hijo será inscrito. Si la demanda excede la cantidad de lugares disponibles, las familias de bajos recursos tendrán prioridad.

Nota: Dado que actualmente no tenemos acceso al aparato del distrito para llegar a las familias, estamos distribuyendo esta encuesta a través de múltiples vías: correo electrónico, Facebook, Twitter, PTOs, proveedores de cuidado infantil, organizaciones comunitarias, etc. Independientemente de cuántas veces lo reciba, solo debe completar la encuesta una vez por cada niño que necesite cuidado. Además, si pudiera enviar esta encuesta a otras familias de AAPS que también necesiten cuidado de niños antes y/o después de la escuela el próximo año escolar, sería de gran ayuda para este esfuerzo. ¡Gracias!
