Let’s enjoy the predicted beautiful weather this Saturday with a traing hike along trails in the Rocky Mountain Arsenal Wildlife Refuge, and walk a portion of the new Denver Orbit Trail. This is an excellent training walk, as many of the trails along Camino routes are similar to this. There is minimal elevation change, but you will be exposed to the sun...so bring a hat and use sunscreen! Our walk starts early, so be sure to wear layers, as you will want to shed a layer or 2 as we walk. And bring plenty of water, and snacks to keep you well-fueled! If you use poles or want to practice using your poles, this is a good walk for them. There are toilets at various locations along our walk. Bring a lunch for post hike Camino talk!
A 8+ mile walk on trails in the Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge and a portion of a segment of the Denver Orbit Trail. Meet at the Visitor's Center Parking Lot, 6550 Gateway Road, Commerce City, CO 80022, at 8:00 AM MDT.
