General Information:
Any LRHS student wanting to participate in the 2021 football season must attend football tryouts in the spring (spring football practice). Spring football practices begin on Monday, April 19 and ends on Friday, May 21. All students, currently enrolled at Lake Ridge High School, who want to play football in the Fall 2021 season, must attend the spring practice tryouts.
NOTE: Any student-athlete still competing in an MISD spring sport is excused until that MISD season is complete.
NOTE: If any student-athlete cannot attend spring practices due to concerns with COVID, the parents of the student-athlete must e-mail Coach Thor to schedule a phone conference prior to spring practice (

Tryout Requirements:
In order to participate on the team in the 2021 fall season, student-athletes must complete the following:
1.
Must have a current MISD Physical/Participation Packet on file. If a current physical/participation packet is not on file, visit the link below to complete the forms. (Print the physical and medical history forms and turn into a coach).

Must return complete the Google consent form prior to participation in spring practice.
3.
Must participate in all spring ball practices from April 19 – May 21
The practice dates are on the SportsYou team platform calendar (download the SportsYou app or go to
sportsyou.com. Team is “LRHS FB 2021” and code is “BP58W6BQ”
NOTE: For any absence, the student-athlete or parent/guardian must contact Coach Thor prior to or within 24 hours of the absence (office phone: 682-314-0438 e-mail:
kirkthor@misdmail.org ). Any injured player is expected to work with the Athletic Trainer.
4.
Must have enough academic credits to be eligible for competition the first 6 weeks of the 2021-22 school year (per UIL/TEA rules) and must be in good academic standing.
5.
To ensure the safety each individual, student-athletes must pass the conditioning test prior to participation in spring practice. The conditioning test is between ten and twenty 53-yard sprints (across the football field) under time standards. Players may retake the test until they pass.
