There will most likely be two line this year, please read the descriptions below and let us know which line you think appeals to you the most. (Front Ensemble will be a part of Cardinal Line by default).
Gold Line:
*Rehearses one night a week for three hours, however this may be shortened during the season.
*Numbers will be flexible, we will take as many members as we have drums
*Focuses on Cadences, Fundamentals, and Gigs.
*Members can expect to play at all Groove gigs unless they have a conflict.
*Great for those who want to have fun, new players, people with busy schedules.
Cardinal Line:
*Rehearses one night a week for three hours, however this may be extended during the season.
*Numbers will be capped, we will take up to 9 snare, 6 quads, 7 basses, and 8 cymbals.
*Focuses on a show that will be performed at the end concert as well as local WGI events (Hopefully).
*Members can also fill in for gigs if someone in Gold line has a conflict.
*Great for those who want to improve their skills, experienced players, members who enjoy WGI or other indoor activities.
Front Ensemble:
*Paired with Cardinal line, So all rehearsals and performances are the same as above.
*The front will remain as one group, so there will be no Gold like Front Ensemble.
*Members of the front are also able to fill in for gigs provided they know the cadences.
*Great for those interested in the melodic side of percussion, members with piano background.
Both groups will perform at the Spring Concert and will play at least one piece together as a line. Both groups also play a very important part in our organization, and we believe that these two line will give everyone a chance to thrive. We are also open to allowing members to do both groups if they would like.
