Working in Theatre Summer Series
Jump-start your theatre career this summer from anywhere with an Internet connection at our free, virtual professional development series. Designed for current college & university students studying theatre but open to all, the Working in Theatre Summer Series is a weekly 10-week course focused on the skills and knowledge emerging professionals need to build a career in live theatre.
Inspired by the weekly lunchtime series we offer the students in our Internship Program, sessions will focus on topics like How to Work in Theatre, Mentorship & Networking, Branding & Self-Marketing, and the Finances of Theatre.
Each webinar will feature guest professionals diving into their areas of expertise; we’ll also provide specially designed resource materials to augment the meetings. Whether you’re interested in technical theatre, design, acting, playwriting, director, administration—or just interested in building a career somewhere in theatre—you will take away skills and knowledge that will help you figure out what’s next.
Fridays, June 12 – August 14, 2020 at 12–1:30pm
Sessions will be hosted via Zoom.
Participation is free, but registration is required. Participation information and other materials will be sent to everyone who registers. Participants do not have to be current college students, and do not have to be 18+. Recommended minimum age is 16. Minors will need parent permission to participate.
Sessions may involve optional pre-readings or other assignments. Participating in the full 10-week series is recommended but not required.
