School / Parent - Student Compact
Warren Middle School and the parents of the students participating in activities, services,
and programs funded by Title I, Part A of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) and participating children, agree that this compact outlines how the parents, the entire school staff, and the students will share the responsibility for improved student academic achievement and the means by which the school and parents will build and develop a partnership that will help children achieve the State’s high standards. This school-parent compact is in effect during school year 2021-2022.

School Responsibilities

Warren Middle School (WMS) will do the following:

 1.   Provide high-quality curriculum and instruction in a supportive and effective learning environment
that enables the participating children to meet the State’s student academic achievement standards as
follows:

WMS offers to the students an eight-period schedule with the following provisions that enable our school to provide high-quality curriculum and instruction in an atmosphere in which all faculty and staff work to meet the state academic achievement standards:

a.           Math is an extended period of 90 minutes every day for every student.
b.          Pre-Advanced Placement classes are offered in every core subject.
d.         WMS meets the standards for offering special education classes.
e.         504 and IEP students are given adequate consideration for modifications.
f.          Every teacher is certified to teach his or her subject or is enrolled in a program that meets State
            standards to secure licensure.

2.   Hold parent-teacher conferences during which this compact will be discussed as it relates to the
individual child’s achievement.  Specifically, those conferences will be held at the following times:

Parent-Teacher Conferences are scheduled for this school year as follow:
First Semester: Monday, September 25, 2023----------3:00-7:00 P. M.
Second Semester: Tuesday,  February 27, 2024------------3:00-7:00 P. M.

3.  Provide parents with frequent reports on their children’s progress.  Specifically, the school will provide
reports as required by the Warren School District.

WMS will provide reports as follow:

A. Progress Reports will be issued four times as listed in the student handbook.
B. WMS teachers make grades available every week in TAC to those parents who have Internet access
to HAC.  Grades will be updated weekly.
C. Every student in every class in WMS has a data binder which contains all pathways, goal sheets and
MAP scores.  These binders are sent home weekly but must be returned to the classroom.

 4.   Provide parents reasonable access to staff.  Specifically, staff will be available for consultation with
  parents as follows:

Every staff member has a daily designated time assigned as conference periods at which time they are available to parents for conferences.  If a parent requests a conference, the school gives the parents the conference time, sets the conference, and then notifies the teacher.

5. Provide parents opportunities to volunteer, to participate in their child’s class, and to observe
   classroom activities, as follows:

A volunteer form is included in the registration packet that is given to every student.  Parents and guardians check the areas in which they wish to volunteer, and those forms are kept readily available in the office.
