In order to fully complete requirements for Nova Awards and Merit Badges, each Scout will need to participate in a counseling session. We recommend Scouts find and work with a local counselor to have a more in-depth, personal, and fulfilling experience. However, we offer counseling sessions for all Scouts who cannot find a local merit badge or Nova counselor. During the week of Cyber Summer Camp we will provide information on how participants can sign up for these counseling sessions.

On the virtual campground, Scouts will find all of the reading and written materials, at-home experiments demonstrated by subject matter experts, live interactions with subject matter experts, and so much more to complete everything for the merit badge and Nova Award with the exception of counseling sessions.

Additionally, at the conclusion of the camp, we will send a “final report” to both parents and your unit leader through gathering information from each Scout on work done on different merit badges and other advancements and email it to your unit leader. See here for an example. We use this for all HomeScouting programs, and it was positively received from unit leaders.
