A subgroup of the DLF Working Group on Labor in Digital Libraries (https://www.diglib.org/groups/dlf-working-group-on-labor-in-digital-libraries/) is interested in adding resources for supervisors and managers of contingent workers to the Collective Responsibility Labor Advocacy Toolkit (https://toolkit.dobetterlabor.com). The toolkit collects resources developed to document and change the landscape of contingent labor in LAM. To date it includes a list of COVID-19 emergency resources, suggestions on how to talk about contingency at work, and a handbook for designing and evaluating grant-funded positions.

As both former contingent workers and supervisors/managers of contingent workers, we believe there is a gap in resources to advise supervisors of contingent workers, who may additionally be supervising staff for the first time in their careers. We’d like to gather information from supervisors/managers of contingent workers about what resources you find yourself needing the most.

If there is interest, we will hold a facilitated discussion via Zoom later this fall to talk about this topic together. We’re also happy to welcome anyone to the group who has the capacity to help us create these resources.

If you are not a supervisor/manager yourself, but know of a supervisor/manager of contingent employees who may be interested in this project, please consider forwarding them this form.

Your response will be anonymous unless you choose to enter your email address at the end of the survey.

Thank you!
