Four Humors Rehearsal Space Requests
We are Four Humors, a theater company with 16 years of production history in the Twin Cities. We have a large rehearsal space in South Minneapolis that's been our home for many years and we are currently seeking other individual producing artists and small-budget arts organizations who are interested in renting rehearsal space for their projects now through July 31, 2024.

Where is the space?
Our space is located between the Seward/Longfellow neighborhoods in Minneapolis, about halfway between Franklin Ave to the north and Lake Street to the south. The address is 2637 27th Ave S, Minneapolis, MN 55406. We have quick access to buses, light rail, shopping and food (Target/Aldi/Seward Coop, etc), Hiawatha Ave, and the Greenway Bicycle Trail. Our space is located on the 2nd floor in a building that features a loading dock, freight elevator, passenger elevator, and ramps for ADA access throughout.

How big is the space and what's available?
Our space is approximately 20x50ft (with ~11ft ceilings), with lots of open floorspace and original hardwood flooring. In the past we have comfortably fit 20-30 people in the space for workshops. We also have several amenities that are ideal for artists and arts orgs.
  • Small lockers for secure storage and a large, 4 shelf pallet racking unit for prop and costume storage.
  • 30 or so theater seats, 2/3rds of which are mobile, reconfigurable units. Perfect for artists or invited guests to watch rehearsals, readings, or work-in-progress showings.
  • Freestanding Chalkboard/Whiteboard
  • Small conference table (seats 6-8)
  • Office Supplies (pens, stapler, paper, tape, etc)
  • 2 large windows offering lots of natural light
  • Ceiling-mounted digital projector
  • Sound system and speakers
  • Bathrooms (non-binary) and water fountains just down the hall.
  • Heat in the winter and a window AC unit in the summer.
  • Free, building wide WiFi (reasonable speeds and stability)
  • Lots of free, on-street parking out front.
  • Limited off-street parking in back for tenants (near loading dock/freight elevator)
  • 24 hour access with locking front and rear doors to the building and dead-bolted door to our space
  • Building is open for business to the public during weekday business hours. Locked evenings/weekends.
What kind of artists are you looking for?
We are looking for a handful of individual artists and/or arts organizations in a variety of artistic disciplines to use the space for their rehearsals/creation process. The space is ideal for "theatrical performing arts," but we're definitely open to other kinds of artists too, so we've left space in the survey below for answering "other" and explaining what you do and why it would work well in our space.

What is the timeframe for rentals
We're looking for one off, weekend, weeks long, and/or months long rentals now through July 31st, 2024

How much does space rental cost
Our hourly rates typically start at $10/hr for artists/orgs, and we're open to discounts for longer term rentals (several consecutive weeks/months). Tell us about your time requirements and we'll chat :)

I have some other questions.
