CTEWC Virtual Table: Engaging Synodality: A Call to Higher Education and Theological Ethicists
For CTEWC members interested in discussing on the theme of Synodality. The purpose of this table is to determine interest and generate further involvement/strategic ways to contribute as theological ethicists to Pope Francis’ global consultation toward a synod on synodality and becoming a synodal church (see Synod on Synodality at Vatican.va.).  We begin as a learning and listening group. The group will begin by sharing of current involvement with the synodal process in one’s context(s). Particular attention will be paid to how theological ethicists both contribute to the synodal process and how we, ourselves, might also listen to the voices of others, particularly those outside of the academy.
Discussion will move to how theological ethicists’ might further respond to the call to synodality in our locations, through our writing, presentations and through our institutions.  Synodality, we believe, challenges theological ethicists to become better listeners, especially those on the margins of the church, the academy and society.
