Music Together at Champaign School of Music Health Policy and Covid-19 Protocols (Winter 2022)
We are ecstatic to welcome you and your family back to in-person classes at the Champaign School of Music this semester! Since keeping everyone, including our teachers, safe and healthy is our top priority, we have made updates to our health policy based on guidance from public health authorities, such as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Champaign-Urbana Health Department.

2022 Health Policy for the Music Together at CSM:
We ask for your help in keeping all the members of our musical community healthy by following these protocols. An inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present. COVID-19 is an extremely contagious disease that can lead to severe illness and death. According to the CDC, senior citizens and those with underlying medical conditions are especially vulnerable. By attending class at the Music Together program offered by the Champaign School of Music, you voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19. Your vigilance and adherence to this health policy is extremely important. Our teachers reserve the right to send a family home from class if they feel these protocols are not being followed.
Mask Policy:
1-During indoor classes, all adults and children ages 2+ must wear a properly-fitting face covering at all times.
2-Mask rules apply to all adults, even those who have received a Covid-19 vaccine.
3-The use of face coverings is not a substitute for physical distancing.
Physical Distancing in Class:
1-Please maintain at least a six-foot distance between your family and other families at all times.
2-Please do your best to encourage your child to practice physical distancing. We understand it might not happen 100% of the time.
COVID-19 Reporting Policy:
If someone in your household tests positive for COVID-19 or is exposed to someone who has tested positive, please let us know right away: 217-359-0541 or champaignschoolofmusic@gmail.com

• We will follow the contact tracing protocol set by the CUHPD, which includes notifying families in the same class of the possible exposure and any quarantine recommendations. Names will never be disclosed.
• You will be informed if your class is taking place on another day, having a substitute, etc.
Classroom Cleaning Protocols
Classroom surfaces will be cleaned and sanitized daily.
• Alcohol-based hand sanitizer and disinfectant wipes will be available for use during class.
• Some instruments and props may be taken out of circulation.
• Families are welcome to bring their own props from home rather than using those provided by the Champaign School of Music.
• All instruments will be “single-use” each day and will not be shared between classes. All instruments will be disinfected at the end of the day with a hospital-grade sanitizing disinfectant.
Liability Waiver:
Parents, legal guardians of minor students and adult students unconditionally irrevocably release Champaign School of Music, together with its owners, lessors, employees, instructors, agents and independent contractors, and their respective heirs, successors, and assigns (collectively, "School") from any and all liability or obligation with respect to to any injury, loss, cost, expense, claim, damage, cause of action or suit (collectively, "Claims") arising out of or in connection with music instruction (the "Lessons/Classes") provided by the School and hereby irrevocably waive any and all Claims or rights hereafter against the School whatsoever. I further agree to save, indemnify, and hold harmless School from and against any Claims which may be brought by third parties on account of the Lessons or my (or Student's) presence at any School facility, private residence or office.
