WHAT IS IT?

The Other~Wise Summer School is a free, experimental learning programme created by and for young people aged 15 - 21.

~ Ever wondered how learning could be more caring, creative and relevant to our lives?
~ What must we learn in order to survive and thrive in today’s world?
~ And what tools do we need to shape the future for the better?

These are some of the questions that we, The Culture Collective - a group of 15 - 21 year olds who meet weekly at The GAP - have been asking ourselves for the past few months. In response to our explorations, we've created The Other~Wise Summer School, a free programme of creative workshops, cultural activities + critical conversations designed + led by us for our peers.

Join us on this exciting journey to re-imagine our education, be inspired, + open our minds to new possibilities...

Sessions will be run by The GAP team, local arists and community organisations, and young people who are members of The Culture Collective.

WHEN IS IT?

1st - 12th August 2022 (weekdays only)

11am - 3pm each day (with optional Open Space 3 - 4pm for unstructured time to chill, chat, make art, play games, etc.

You will be able to sign up for the full two weeks, just one week, or single days.

WHERE IS IT?

The GAP, a youth arts organisation and cultural space located on Balsall Heath highstreet (498 Moseley Road, B12 9AH) plus also several outdoor spaces within walking distance.

LUNCH

Sadly, we can't afford to provide lunch for everyone, so you'll need to bring your own packed lunch or buy something from the many shops/take aways near us (or our own cafe!) If this is difficult for you to do, please do let us know and we'll sort something out. There will also be free snacks and drinks for everyone each day.
