What is Summer Bridge?

Summer Bridge is an exclusive hybrid summer orientation program for DREAM Center, EOP, and Seawolf Scholars first-time, first-year students transitioning from high school to Sonoma State University. There will be an online and an in person component to our 2022 Summer Bridge Orientation program.

What is the purpose of Summer Bridge?

The primary focus of Summer Bridge is to give students "a taste" of university life, connect them to campus resources, provide them with opportunities to create supportive relationships, and have the opportunity to take college courses that will earn them college-bearing units.

Attendance and completion of the full hybrid Summer Bridge orientation program is required of all incoming first-time, first- year students. Upon successful completion of Summer Bridge, students can earn up to 6-units of college credit and a $1,000 book and technology grant award.
