Boo at the Zoo Volunteer Sign-Up
BOO at the ZOO is Columbian Park Zoo's annual family-friendly fundraiser event, geared towards youth and supporting the Zoo's mission of conservation and education in Greater Lafayette.

Volunteers are needed to help make this event a success!

2023 Boo at the Zoo Dates:
  • Friday, October 20 - FULL
  • Saturday, October 21 - FULL
  • Sunday, October 22 - FULL
         Volunteer shifts are 3:00pm-8:00pm each day of the event.

All Boo at the Zoo temporary volunteers must:
 -Be at least 18 years of age 
 -Be able to volunteer for the entire shift they've signed up to attend
 -Agree to Terms & Conditions at the end of this form

Interested?  Please complete the form below - The Zoo's Volunteer Coordinator will follow-up with you to confirm your volunteer shift and provide you with additional details.  

Volunteer opportunities are limited for this popular event and are filled on a first-come, first-serve basis.  Large groups are welcome, but each member must sign-up individually.  We will work to place group members together, however due to the nature of our event, volunteers may be assigned to different volunteer areas.

Terms & Conditions
  1. All Boo at the Zoo temporary volunteers must be 18 years of age.
  2.  All volunteers must be able to commit to the entire shift - no splitting shifts with other volunteers or group members.
  3.  All volunteers must submit a volunteer form, to be sent electronically after sign-up is complete.

Volunteers are welcome to dress in costumes for the actual event dates.  Please note: fake weapons, bloody or gory costumes and/or accessories will not be permitted. 

The Columbian Park Zoo/Lafayette Parks Department has a zero tolerance for drugs, alcohol, and tobacco, and reserves the right to expel individuals that fail to adhere to this policy. 

This event is held OUTDOORS, so please dress appropriately. Please store all valuables before arriving to volunteer. We are not responsible for the loss or theft of any items.

I agree to advise the Zoo in writing of any physical limitations which could affect or be affected by any volunteer activities I assume.  I understand it is my responsibility to provide this information and I release the Zoo from any liability for injuries or illnesses which result from my failure to advise the Zoo in writing of any such limitations.

I agree and understand that as a volunteer, the Zoo is not obligated to provide me any payment or benefit for my services.  I also agree to release the Lafayette City Board of Parks and Recreation, its employees and agents (collectively the Zoo) from any liability in the event I am injured or suffer damage as a result of my volunteer activities at the Zoo.  I agree not to pursue any claim or initiate any action against the Zoo in the event I am injured or suffer damage as a result of the negligence of the Zoo.  I understand and agree that this is an express assumption of risk and this release and waiver is made on my own behalf and on behalf of my heirs, executors, representatives and assigns.
