TOGETHER IN JESUS: FIRST RECONCILIATION:  In this lesson we are going to read about how we make peace at Mass. We not only ask for forgiveness through the Sacrament of Reconciliation, but we also do it every time we go to Mass. Turn to page 3 in your "Together in Jesus" booklet and read how we 1) confess our unloving actions, 2) ask God to forgive us, and 3) share a sign of peace during the Mass. Then answer the questions below.

Fantastic job! In our last lesson we talked about words and actions of forgiveness that we will experience in the Sacrament of Reconciliation. In this lesson we talk about the words and actions at Mass that we use to ask for forgiveness. In the beginning of Mass, we confess our unloving actions; we pray our Lord's Prayer, the Our Father where we ask to be forgiven the same way as we need to forgive others; and at the Sign of Peace, where we offer others a wish for peace. Our souls crave peace. God wants to fill you with his peace so that you can go out into the world and share it with everyone who crosses your path.
LEARNING ABOUT THE TEN COMMANDMENTS: Now we have reached the last of the Ten Commandments, "You shall not covet your neighbor's goods." Like the 9th Commandment, the 10th Commandment deals the desire to want to have everything. Take a moment to read about this Commandment on page 14 of your booklet and when you are done answer the questions below.
What is the special meal called that Moses and his people celebrated when they were finally set free from slavery in Egypt. *

When we think about all the __________ God has given us, we can't help but feel great? *
1 point
If we spend all our time thinking about what everybody else has - and how we can get it - we miss out on the joy and happiness of God's love in our lives. *

Super job! Gratitude for what we have helps us to stop measuring ourselves against others, as if life were a kind of contest that is won by whoever has the latest style, the newest cell phone, or the "right" kind of house or car. Respecting the 10th Commandment means recognizing our own gifts and talents and making good use of them, while at the same time being happy when others make good and fruitful use of their gifts. Remember to read over the "I examine my conscience" questions carefully to see how you may or may not be keeping the 10th Commandment. When you are done be sure to place your 10th Commandment sticker in the proper place on page 14.
HAIL MARY CRAFT: The "Hail Mary" is a very special prayer that focuses on the Blessed Virgin Mary. As you learn this prayer it is important to understand who Mary was. Mary was a real person, born on this earth to her parents Anne and Joachim. Mary never sinned. Because she had a special calling from God, she never did anything that would offend or hurt God. She was full of grace and virtue.  Mary is the mother of Jesus. She was an important part of God’s plan to bring Jesus, Our Savior, into the world. She loved and cared for Jesus from the time He was a baby to the time He went back to Heaven. Mary is our Heavenly Mother. She has a special job to care for us and protect us. She wants all of God’s children to be with her in heaven one day. Mary wants you to talk to her. When we pray the Hail Mary or a rosary, we “talk” to Mary. She loves it when children come to her in prayer. Ask her to help you become more like Jesus. Look in your "Lesson Activity Bag"  to find your Hail Mary packet. Then complete your worksheet cards and color in your Hail Mary picture stand to place on your desk or dresser. Use your sequencing cards to help you memorize this prayer and then be sure to say it often. I look forward to seeing all your great work on this project.
Super great job!  I want you to remember that "Reconciliation is a Celebration." It is a celebration of God's power to make all things new for us!! We will continue to learn more about this celebration as we continue our lessons!
